The New Digs: Some info about the new board.

Welcome everyone! The transfiguration is pretty much complete; and we hope you like the new surroundings. Still lots to be done to bring it around (mostly cosmetic); but I think you'll enjoy the expanded capabilities of the new format. It should be a bit more secure and stable...not to mention flexible.

The transfer went fairly well; but you will find that you're PM inbox is now empty. If there is something very, very, VERY important that you must have retrieved from on old PM, I can manually search the old database; otherwise, the message are, for all intents, gone.

There are some new features I'd like to point out to everybody:

• We've added some forums and spread some of the messages out. Depending on how things go, we'll add or detract from those.

• You have more options for your personal profile. Look them over...test them out. You can even enter your birthday and a notice will automatically show up on the board when the birthday comes around.

• The personal message box should have no limit now; but for the sake of smooth operation, delete those unnecessary messages regularly

• We have the ability to have avatars; but please: keep it reasonably inoffensive. There's a limited list of avatars that come with the software; but you can link an avatar if you prefer (like mine!). I'll be adding to avatar list as we go along...as well as adding a number new smilies

• There is a calendar now. For now, only the admins will be able to add to that, till we get it populated a bit; but you have a new forum for the Calendar, in case there's something you might like added. We'll see about allowing people to link directly to the Calendar down the road

• There is a "Site Suggestions" board. This obviously will be the place to post suggestions for changes or improvements. If an idea is feasible and practical, we'll see about implementing it. This "Site Suggestions" forum is also the place to post if you find bugs or errors on the board.  Along with the description fo the problems, it would also be helpful if you would include the operating system you're using (Windows, Mac OS X, etc) and the type of browser you're using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc).

There's more, I'm sure; but I figure y'all want to go explore. Well...GET TO THIS!!

The stars are based upon how many posts one has in The Neighborhood. They can be anything really; and I'm open to suggestions. Or we can do away with them altogether. I was thinking of making it wolves; but I didn't have the right sized image. I'm still working on it, though.

You will notice, though, that I did manage to find a small wolfpack for the administrators.

     I was wondering if the Admins. will  be  posting Los Lobos club dates on the calendar in the future?

It has been discussed and will probably happen pretty soon. Just a matter of setting up who does what & when to get them entered. And there's the matter of learning what all this board can do: it's new to us too!

I just noticed that some people's signature lines did not transfer correctly. It seems like the first few charactars were truncated. You can restore them to full health my going to Profile> Forum Profile Information> Signature and making your edits there.
