"Who Shot The LaLa" ~ R.I.P.

     Bob French announced this morning on his radio program at WWOZ-FM the passing of Oliver "Who Shot The LaLa" Morgan.

Mr. Morgan, from the musical hotbed of the 9th Ward of New Orleans, died in Atlanta, GA earlier today. His 1963 hit, "Who Shot The LaLa", had the whole country dancing. A favorite recording from his personal collection was Otis Redding's "These Arms Of Mine." Mr. Morgan recorded with NYNO Records and was a frequent performer at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. It is said that he was personally responsible for more parades than Mardi Gras.
