What ever happened to Lobos founder Frank Gonzalez?

I was watching the footage from 1975 and was wondering if anyone knows what happened to Frank - who started the band, and was such a leader and mentor to the boys.  If you have not seen this historic footage, you should really check it out.  I was really taken by it - not just the music and the bearded Lobos, but by Frank who sang almost all of the songs and was really teaching the rest of the band the nuances of the music.  Did he leave the band?  Was he kicked out?  Did something happen to him?  He was in the band from 73-76 and appeares on the "Si se puede" LP from 1976 - but not on the band's "Just Another Band.." recorded in 1977.

well actually "burger" frank gonzalez became disenchanted with the LA music scene of the late '70's (the emergence of punk, new wave, etc,) turned away from his beloved jarocho and turned to acting where he was scheduled to revive warner bros bit player .....



       



due to pressure though from the same self appointed guardians of mexican american public imagery that had recently forced abc to drop the paul rodriguez show "aka pablo" warners soon ended any attempt to resurrect the character...
