Couple of Shure SM57 that I've had for years

i've been considering getting one of those 6-packs of 57s or 58s for a while now
why? because i'm a recording geek, and i should have a few of those. it just feels right.

Next acquisition: let's just say I know some one with a SD 744t and a tax problem... 

...and Steve is there to pick up the pieces!!

Okay, I'm living in fantasyland on that one but it's okay to dream really, really big, as long as I don't slobber all over the electronic toys I can't hope to own anytime soon (damn kids  )   Meanwhile, I'll keep living in the stone age with a bunch of DAT decks...it won't be too long before the young taper wippersnappers will start asking "yo bro, what are those things?"


Oh, I almost forgot, I have to lug around a bunch of these to power all this crap:

Nothing like a big pile of lead batteries to make the trek up and down the Fillmore side entrance steps a fun venture (of course always in the pouring rain)...somehow OSHA hasn't found their way to the Fillmore before...

I can't compete with you madmen, but I got $70 out for the Tascam iM2X, and $300 on the iPod touch. I did some test recordings at various input levels and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I think I'm gonna set it at 6 and go for it. Thanks Crack for the "set it low" tip.

Interesting. That's the kind of thing that Michelle Shocked probably wishes didn't exist. 

What's the default recording format? I'd imagine it's MP3.
