Cabot Theater next Saturday....who's in?
« on: April 13, 2018, 02:53:20 pm »
I'll be at the cabot show next saturday....anyone else in? :yahoo:
I must say, it's not my favorite venue; most people sit down and the only place to dance is up in the balcony where you are not blocking anyone.
Los Lobos is not sit down music ;)

I'm in.  Last 2 times Barrence Whitfield has taken over most of the second set.  Odds on that happening again?  I'm betting so.

I`d say 100 percent. Also betting we get the premiere of the Shins collaboration being released that day.Remember, the Cabot got the premiere of`Bootleg`(I might be one of the few to see that twice,2nd in Auburn)Hope there`s some later action at Chiantis. As long as the house band doesn`t play any puto music like the last time.

Considering he lives within walking distance to the venue.

Fabulous show. I'm not a setlist guy so I'll leave that to others. A new road crew member and some less punishing travel seem to agree with the guys. Everyone was engaged and the music was amazing from start to finish. The triple guitar solos on Chains of Love were epic. Conrad was boogieing away, especially on Cesar's tunes. Gave the drummer some. Barrence Whitfield got the greatest backup band in the world for the encores. Still the best.

Sorry i didn't see you there Dave.
It was an awesome show!
They really extended out the solos, and Bertha was one of the best I've seen.
Other highlights: Wicked Rain, Train Don't Stop, Not Fade Away, The Neighborhood.
I'm sure Uncle Buck has a setlist.

Beats me. There was some guy I've never seen before up on the stage with Mando. Myles was pretty busy at the merch table after the show so no chit chat. Before the show Myles told me they were flying between the East Coast shows instead of driving. My wife's theory is that touring with Tedechshi Trucks made the guys realize they could make the travel more bearable. In any case, they were on from start to finish so whatever they're doing it seems to be working. Just bummed I'm going to miss that show at the NOLA House of Blues. A stand up venue (finally) and the JazzFest energy should make for an awesome show. Oh, well.

Great high energy show.  Audience was more "into it" than recent Cabot shows, or at least it felt that way to me.  Always feel so blessed to be able to see these guys so close to home in such a nice venue as the Cabot.  A little bit of a rough start with minor equipment issues, Conrad's strap button breaking, etc, but 2nd set knocked it out of the park, as usual.  I'm glad Barrence did a double encore - this was great.  The majority of the second set, the past 2 years, is a bit much for me.  :)

Actually, the band was driving to Philly.
They were heading somewhere around Hartford after the Cabot show, and then finishing the drive the following day.
They did however fly up from Maryland.
Personally, I don't know how they do it. They party pretty hardy, travel, gig....repeat.

Yeah, and Steve was standing around looking forlorn for a couple of numbers, too. Some technical difficulties at the start for sure.

Shows you what I know. I could have sworn Myles said they were flying to Sellersville because I remember thinking they'd have time to hang around after the show if they wanted to. I guess I misunderstood. Too bad I didn't know they were headed to Hartford: I would have suggested they get to Bear's Smokehouse right around the block from the Infinity Center before they hit the road again. Great barbeque.

No new crew members.  Must have noticed a local guy.
We did fly to Philly.
Gear van drove though.
Thanks for coming out to the show.  Lots of fun.

Mysteries solved! Thanks, Myles.
