...turns 71 today. Several years ago, in the course of celebrating his birthday, he accidentally shot his bassist with a .357 Magnum.
Twice.
Target practice, they said.
Best wishes, Jerry Lee!
BTW, you might want to check out his new CD, "Last Man Standing".
It's a duets album of rock, blues, and country standards with 22 guests that include Keith, Neil, B.B., Little Richard, John Fogerty, Clapton, and Willie Nelson. It's amazing to hear "The Killer" hijack Led Zep's "Rock and Roll", with Jimmy P. on guitar, or, pull the rug out from The Boss on "Pink Cadillac".
Lewis is an aggressive, muscular player, even at this stage of his career. Check out his playing on Creedence Clearwater's "Traveling Band".
The only track that doesn't make it is the one with Kid Rock, which is a crummy version of "Honky Tonk Women". This disc also includes pairings with Merle H. and George Jones, but I think it would've been neat to also include Dave or Phil Alvin.
