Title: In search of any Latin Playboys or Houndog shows!
Post by: thatdamnracket on May 04, 2018, 11:45:47 am
I really love these albums and after picking up the first Latin Playboys on vinyl this record store day, I would love to hear some live shows.  Any to share?

I have some shows: all in SHN format (I've had them a while). I'll work on getting them somewhere accessible.

This one is in FLAC. Original text file is missing; but grabbed the info from another source. Setlist will look "familiar."  :shifty:

I heard from a very reliable source that there was a second Houndog CD... Anyone got that one?

From what I understand, another one was completed and turned in to Yep Roc Records, but was never released.  I really hope it will see the light of day.

Pretty sure it was released... I was talking with Dave about it and during our conversation, Louie told him that he found Dave a copy, if I understood correctly... Dave said it's pretty much in the impossible to find category...

Pretty sure he was referring to the first one.  Copies go for bucks on ebay.  Been out of print since its release.
The Yep Roc release never happened.  There might have been promo copies made (maybe that was what Louie was referring to).  This conversation has started me to think more about it.  I have a friend at Yep-Roc who I will contact and try to get the scoop.

Much thanks to those who posted these live shows!

Does anyone happen to know the itinerary for the '99 tour they were all from?

One of my most treasured memories was getting the chance to see a Latin Playboys concert right around that time. I could have sworn it was in San Jose, though I don't know why I would have driven down from Oakland instead of just going into SF?

YepRoc is mum about the release.  I contacted 2 people who work there and both said they do not know why the album was never released.  I did find out though, that YepRoc was indeed prepping it and put the track "Cruisin Part 1" on 2 different promo cds to hype the upcoming releases.  I was able to track one of the cd's down and yes, its a great track.  Just makes me want to hear the rest of it.  Maybe someday...

It is the one you gave me years ago...so I guess it is a SBD.

Dave was on fire.
