I think the whole world is looking for tickets that night. Myself included. And for the record, I'm not the least bit bitter about that fact. No. Really.

You may want to keep checking/trying the Ticketmaster site. I just purchased one ticket for Sat. night from them a few minutes ago.

Ms. yanet has first dibs. If she turns it down, it's yours. I'll try again using the method that I got that one. Face value, of course.. BRB... So sorry, sweetie...no dice this time. I'll keep trying, though. The way I got the other one was by clicking on the photo of LL that appears on an "event reminder" notice sent to my e mailbox from Ticketmaster. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Don't give up;keep the faith!

quoting Dan from another thread: One thing that has always been a given at the Fillmore, regardless of what band is playing or how sold out the show is, is that they always sell at least 50-100 tickets at the box office the night of the show - they always have two lines that form out front - one for folks with tickets waiting to get in and another line for folks wanting to buy tickets. The ticket buying line usually is not present at the LL Fillmore shows since the last several runs usually have not been totally sold out in advance (and hence folks can walk right up to the box office and buy tickets if needed), but any show I've ever attended there where it was sold out in advance, they had a ticket buyers line and ended up selling tickets to at least the first 50 or so people. This even includes shows I've seen there like Eric Clapton that were obviously well sold out.
My advice would be to get there early and be the folks that start the ticket buyers line - 2 or 3pm is what I'd recommend. THere usually are already a few folks waiting by then in the ticket holder line, so if you don't see any Fillmore staff to ask, just start an adjacent line on the sidewalk and make it clear to folks as they come up which line is which. I can't remember what oder they do things in but I think they sell tickets to the ticket buyers first so they can then get to the end of the ticket holders line before doors open.
The other thing I suggest is bookmarking the ticketmaster on sale page for that show and check on a reguulrar/frequent basis as they often release more tickets as a show gets close. It will seem futile as you keep getting told no tickets available but then all of a sudden there tickets will be. This could happen any timeand they may disappear as quickly as they appear, so checking often is the key. In my experience, shows for BGP type venues (i.e. Fillmore, Warfield, Shoreline) most often become available again the day before or day of the show, but there's not necessarily any rhyme or reason to it.
One last suggestion is to watch Craig's List for the SF Bay Area, as you often find tickets for shows on there at cost.

thanks Crack et al
I'm driving from Utah to Cali Friday and I don't know if I could get my butt in gear in time to stand in line. As it is, I *should* be taking care of adult realities Sat, not grooving to my favorite band. I mean, after all! They are playing the HOB right after Christmas and those shows are just as fine. Right? Right? Don't answer that.
I hate being a grown up about this.

I think it's a stupid way for them (the ticket sellers) to do business. Either you have tickets or you don't. I think it is wrong that a local person, like crosstoby, can't just walk up to the box office and buy tickets in advance.

Yeah! Right! What she said---thanks, LG. I am a very relieved and happy Lobos would-be ticket buyer guy...... The following link is to the KFOG ticket swap site...dude posted this thing yesterday, so the tix might be gone already...even so, check it out. http://www.kfog.com/community/TicketSwap/MessageList.asp?idForum=18&threadid=33105&threadname=Los+Lobos+%2D+Saturday+Dec%2E+9thAlso! Getting tickets the day of the show is not that bad a way to go. Yes, you blow a couple of hours in line, but you can talk to other friendly Music Lovers, and you can do a crossword, or read a book, or get all stoned and stare at the Post Office...the only thing is you can only get one ticket per person. And also! The time to buy a ticket for a sold out show is right around show time. The scalpers will be out there well before the show starts, and so will the opportunists, but the people who have extras most often have them because somebody browned on them right before they were going to go to the show. Those are the people who just want to get rid of the ticket and go inside. Even right up to the time that Lobos is scheduled to come on...I been there, I know. So go, get in, rock out, oh yeah. Jon
